Member Communication...Navigating the Next Frontier

In the age of competing demands for employees’ attentions, and with workforces comprising of individuals from multiple generations and with different levels of financial literacy, how should plan administrators communicate with their plan members about their retirement savings programs? Should their communication strategy be a one-size-fits-all approach, or should it be tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of the different groups within their plan membership? Will a tailored communication strategy be worth the additional cost and time commitment? And how will success be measured, and could it lead to improved member outcomes?

In addition, with ever-expanding sources of financial information, misinformation, so-called financial “experts” and influencers, what responsibilities do plan administrators have to counter misinformation? Where is the line between providing financial education vs. providing advice? How far should plan administrators go in helping plan members make informed decisions? And what are a plan administrator’s legal responsibilities as it relates to communicating with plan members and providing them with the tools and resources to make informed decisions?

We look forward to having you join this exciting session on  member communications during which our panel of experts will:

  • Review regulatory requirements and legal considerations for plan administrators.
  • Discuss best practices and emerging trends.
  • Reveal pitfalls to avoid when engaging with plan members.

Explore innovative ways of improving plan member engagement.
