Unclaimed pension amounts pose a significant challenge for the administration of registered pension plans. The Registered Plans Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency is actively assessing potential solutions to support plan administrators in locating plan members and beneficiaries.
This discussion will feature a presentation on how the CRA is working to help identify and reconnect administrators with pension plan members or their beneficiaries when contact information is outdated or missing. It will highlight the progress made to date and outline the next steps in advancing this work.
A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

Sean Malloy is the Director of the Policy, Actuarial and Communications Division within the Registered Plans Directorate at the Canada Revenue Agency. Appointed to the role in November 2019 following his tenure as Director of Registered Plans Audit, Sean provides strategic leadership in policy development, the publication of guidance for deferred income and savings arrangements, stakeholder engagement, and the delivery of actuarial services in support of the pension sector, financial institutions, external partners, and internal CRA clients.
