Session 1: Trustees Fireside Chat
Moderated by Judy Payne (Chair, Fortis BC Pension Plan), this dynamic panel will feature Jeff Bromley (Wood Council Chair, United Steelworkers Union) and Randi Topp (Executive Director, Pensions and Plan Governance, University of Victoria). The discussion will explore strategic planning, risk management, succession planning, and best practices in trustee leadership and recruitment.
Session 2: Communications in Change Management
This session will focus on effective stakeholder communication during times of change. Featuring insights from Sharon Vanderwerff (Regional Vice President, Group Retirement Services, Client Relationships and Business Development, Sun Life), Renee Bilodeau (Vice-President, Board and Communication Services, BC Pension Corporation), and Tamara Issak (CFO, Coast Funds), the panel will share real-world strategies for navigating complex communication challenges in the pension space.
Networking Reception
Cap off the day with a relaxed networking session from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, offering a chance to connect with peers and speakers in a scenic waterfront setting.
